Gilot wrote a whimsical story for her daughter Paloma, when she was a child, called Paloma Sphinx. She illustrated her story with ink drawings. In 1975 Paloma produced a limited edition of the story.

Monotypes

This is a catalogue of the monotypes from 1985 to 1989 exhibited at the Berggruen gallery in Paris. A monotype is a single original print. The artist applies a thin layer of ink directly unto a sheet of plexiglass. A paper is positioned on the plate and passed through the litho press. The plate is then wiped cleaned and the artist applies another layer, some Monotypes have eight successive passes. Gilot also added fragments of old etchings, old bank notes, or Japanese papers. The Monotypes were down with master printer Judith Solodkin at the Solo Press Studio.
